Rykneld Primary School is undergoing an exciting, multi-million pound, improvement project, including a two storey extension, to create space for an additional 160 primary school places.
The extension will include 10 new classrooms, staff and pupil support rooms and a large sports hall. Existing outside sports facilities will also be enhanced with the creation of an all-weather pitch together with improved hard and soft play areas. The additional primary school places will increase capacity at the school from 470 to 630, including 23 places for reception-age children. The project is due to complete in summer 2015.
The work is being carried out by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, and is part of St. Modwen’s wider planned redevelopment of land south of Branston, which includes the creation of up to 660 new homes, as well as employment opportunities.
